When I was tested for ADHD at 27 (using continuous performance tasks (CPTs) and a year's worth of analysis from my therapist), before I was walked through my results, I was asked if I'd graduated college. My test scores were off the charts for impulsivity, erratic thought patterns, and the way the executive functioning part of my brain worked. Though I always knew I was a little “different,” I started sobbing because I was relieved that I could point to a specific diagnosis and someone else could see exactly how hard I had to work just to make it through school.
Since then I've learned how to not only manage my ADHD but thrive while managing it. In fact, I like to think of it as my secret weapon.
In this episode, I'm walking you through all of the ways I've learned to maximize my days through ruthless prioritization, time blocking, and managing distractions.
