A couple years ago, I wrote the article “It’s OK To Not Have Your Shit Together.” It was written when I started my journey to reframe my thinking around achieving perfection. In many ways, I still subscribe to this mindset, especially as I’ve come to understand where perfectionism is just about idealization and control. What I’ve learned over the past couple of years is working towards perfect often gets confused with excellence.
Today, I read you the essay that resonated with so many of you, and talk about how I’ve learned to separate excellence from perfection, and how they’re often mistaken for one another but have a very different impact on your ability to continue to evolve and grow with internally driven momentum-- not the approval of others.
