I have yet to live in a home where my plans for redesigning it didn’t extend past my budget significantly. I always thought I would find a way to get these plans done, despite the egregious scope creep and outlandish ideas.
This isn’t a new pattern for me.
I have time and energy distortion, usually thinking most things will be far less complicated, time-consuming, or expensive than they are. This reality distortion can get me far in life in some ways. I lack the fear of looking stupid for trying, I find creative solutions, and I hold some confidence that this trait is the secret to getting things done.
