Kate's 5 Things
Happy Friday all! After this week, we only have eight more Fridays until summer (officially) begins!
What I’ve been reading:
Book Lovers! This is so not my genre. But I’m really enjoying the breezy twist on enemies to lovers trope. Have you read it?
What I’ve been cooking & eating:
I made the most decadent black sesame chocolate chip cookies ever — I followed this recipe. We ate such a delicious meal, most of which was vegan, from the cookbook First Generation by Frankie Gaw.
What I’ve been watching:
Beef on Netflix. I gotta say my inner people pleaser is super activated by this but I am intrigued by the way this show asks us to consider what happens when we indulge the darker sides of ourselves. I’d love to hear your thoughts if you’ve watched it!
What’s in my cart:
The hat to end all other hats — this Lorna Murray sunhat! I plan on wearing it all summer long.
One thing I’m looking forward to…
Planning updates to our garden and planting flowers! Are you doing any gardening or landscaping this spring? I’d love to know what you have planned for your outdoor space!
Reader Question:
Would you tell the story of selecting your bright blue stove? I’m so curious as it’s not an obvious choice, but I have to say I come back and look at it over and over!
Kate’s Answer:
In our previous house I had gone with a Lacanche french range (pictured in this blog post) and while going that route in our larger space was out of the budget, I wanted to find a model that made a statement. The blue reads as a neutral most of the time but with a richer, deeper feeling. When the sun hits that part of the house its like this fun surprise and the saturated color brings a zing of energy to the space.Â
Last but not least, Lucy Williams shared this home on her Instagram and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. Each slide is better and better! Who’s packing up and moving to Greece with me?
