This has put into words what I could not, and given me courage to move towards a more authentic career choice. I'm returning to the world of paid work after 15 years of being home with my kids and it is daunting to be in a space where I'd prefer to create my own income but being afraid to do so. I'm grateful for the privilege of being in this spot but frozen in fear. Thank you for giving this type of fear a voice.
Like the other readers, you've put into words my problems with perfectionism and addiction to achievement. I had a terrible year too, so I feel you here. Looking forward to your 2024 pieces.
Kate - I'm right there with you. This has been an interesting and trying year. But also a year of learning and figuring out what to do next with what I've learned about myself and my surroundings. But one thing I can say is THANK YOU for being honest and upfront with where you are. It has always been the one of the many things I appreciate about (as well as inspired by) you. Can't wait to see how 2024's unfolds for us all. ❤️
